Sister Safe

The Sister Safe initiative strives to educate women and girls on how to stay safe. It examines the ways that women and girls are under asymmetrical attack globally, and strives to arm women and girls with the tools that they need to prevent themselves from becoming victims. Sister Safe will create a set of newsletters highlighting issues like sexual assault and domestic violence, and these will serve as crime prevention mechanisms online and in the physical realm. Newsletters will be passed out in communities surrounding mine, and will be shared on social media as well. The initiative is a crime prevention strategy devised by former journalist and crime survivor Amanda Furness.
