Sister Connect:The Power of Stories

Visit by World Pulse sister -Farhiya

I have been a member of World Pulse for quite sometime. I came across World Pulse when I was scrolling online , then came across this mammoth network of women using technology to connect, learn from one another , encourage each other and seek change.

I wrote a story about my work with children in disadvantaged communities in Nairobi and Machakos in Kenya. World Pulse gave me the platform to share my story  with the world. Today ,4th March 2023, due to the click of a mouse , Farhiya , also a member of World Pulse and I connected , spoke on WhatsApp and today she came to visit ,alongside her colleague , to learn about  understand the Haki Nawiri Afrika journey and my work in the community championing human rights and social justice.

We has a discussion on our work and what we can do together collaboratively. We discussed women empowerment , climate  change ,   Gender Based Violence (GBV),food justice and how to use sports to advance social justice in communities .

The meeting made me realise the great power that lies in telling your story, in communicating , in sharing with the world what is happening in your corner of the world.

Let’s keep talking to each other, let’s keep inspiring one another , you never know what impact your story is having.
