Sensitization on Retaining Girls in School and Ending Menstrual Poverty..

With the Engaging with the District Head of Arkime ward in Potiskum. of Arkime, Potiskum

I and my team carried out sensitization and awareness calls to four communities in Potiskum, Yobe state in Nigeria.

As part of the strategy of the Retaining Girls in School initiative ,we visited ward heads and their community members and made a case for the importance of educating the girl child and how education is a foundamental right of every girl child.

We also advocated for Fathers to be involved in ending Menstrual Poverty because it is one of the reasons girls drop out of school.

Ward heads made a commitment to discourage girls Hawking during school hours and gave permission for us to hold Menstrual Health Education for the communities.
