Saudi Hostile Takeover of Islamic Center in Washington, DC

Salaam/Peace. Jumaa Mubarak!/Happy Friday!

This brief video concerns what happened to the elected leader of The Islamic Center in Washington, DC 38 + years ago; \"Best Imam Around. Best Imam In Town.\" I'm reminded of what a close friend of mine said about Imam Asi after observing how he interacted and behaved with his grandchildren when at home. She said the way he interacted with them resembled how The Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him and his) treated his grandchildren.

At the end of every Friday Khutbah/sermon, Imam Asi recites this verse from The Holy Quran:

Arabic وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن مَّنَعَ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ أَن يُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ وَسَعَىٰ فِي خَرَابِهَا أُولَٰئِكَ مَا كَانَ لَهُمْ أَن يَدْخُلُوهَا إِلَّا خَائِفِينَ لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ وَلَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

\"And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of God, God's name should be celebrated?-whose zeal is (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this world, and in the world to come, an exceeding torment.\"
