The act or custom of a Hindu widow burning herself to death or being burned to death on the funeral pyre of her husband is called Sati system (Merriam Webster Dictionary). In that time, man is assume as god and powerful sothat women had no meaning after the husband death. Therefore. that system was brought.During Sati system women must be died with husband. In the past man has many wives sothat if he died , all need to be burned with husband. Therefore, many women were burned during the death of king. Even upto 31 numbers of queen were burnt in the past.Sati system was considered as a social evil.In which a widow sacrifices herself by sitting a top her deceased husband's funeral pyre It was like an act of murder. Sati system was largely historical practice found chiefly among Hindus in the northern and pre-modern region of South Asia , The Sati system was legally abolished by the Prime minister Chandra Shumsher Rana in 1920. We human lives in 21 century. As we all are the citizen of Nepal. We know about Sati system. . The custom of Sati was being more dangerous were one to thirty-three were forced to Sati. As we see Sati system was not necessary.On December 5, 1829 , Lord William Bentinck ability Sati system in India. Nepali ruler didn't imitate the Indians rather the practice existed for about ninety more year of its abolition in Neighbouring India. Meanwhile, Chandra Shumsher was pressurised by the British-Indian government to uproot the practice. (Udaya Yadav, June 2020).
