The flag of Kurdistan—a symbol of identity, peace, and the sacrifices of our martyrs.
For generations, my people have endured realities that few can imagine. Kurdistan was divided among four nation-states, separating families, lands, and identity. Throughout history, we have faced systemic oppression, chemical attacks, the brutal Anfal campaigns, forced displacement, and tragic acts where our people were buried alive simply for being Kurdish.
We have witnessed unspeakable cruelties against our defenders—our Peshmerga. Heroes like Martyr Hojam Surchi were decapitated on video, and our fighters were paraded and stone-pelted through the streets. Yet, even through such darkest moments, our spirit could not be broken.
Despite every effort to extinguish us, we refused to disappear. We became seeds instead.
Today, as part of a new generation, I carry both the weight of our painful history and the strength of our endurance. Though we live without drawn borders or official recognition on world maps, our identity remains vibrant, our language thrives, and our determination to be heard globally grows stronger every day.
We have never lost hope. The dream of a future where our identity is fully recognized and our people live in peace on their rightful land continues to burn brightly in our hearts. Sharing my voice is a continuation of that survival—a testament that we are still here, still standing, and still hopeful.
