Riots in Mombasa following a Muslim Cleric's Murder

Fierce riots have rocked the coastal city of Mombasa, Kenya, for the better part of the today, following the murder of a Muslim cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Rogo and his three companions. The four were shot dead inside the vehicle they were travelling in by unknown gunmen Thursday night.
They had just left the Musa Mosque where Sheikh Ibrahim Rogo had delivered what is believed to have been a rather controversial Islamic teachings lecture at around 8 pm. Their vehicle was sprayed with bullets along the Mombasa-Malindi Road at around 10 pm.
The rioting Muslim youth set ablaze a church belonging to the Salvation Army denomination.
It is believed that these murders are connected with the killing of Sheikh Abiud Rogo Mohammed, who was also murdered on 27th August last year. It is not clear whether the two Rogos are related.
The others who were slain in the attack were identified as Abu Rumaysa Omar, Shebe Gaddafi and an Issa.
They were all buried in one grave, accorded the ststus of martyrs' burial.
Militant supporters have vowed to avenge the killing.
