Rights for Women with Disability

The article of one dear sister from Cameroon had a big impact on me. Thinking about the darkness of the lives of people with disabilities, whether metaphoric or where we are actually kept. We live in a condition of shame, having to stand for the most basic of rights; to have to explain our need for a real toilet because our legs can't support us to squat. Many people don't think that women with disabilities have sexual desire. Men will sneak in darkness to sleep with them so as not to be seen with them, using them, believing that the encounter is nothing to the disabled woman because she doesn't have sexual desire or any desire really; she's subhuman. So the time has come to accept that women with disabilities are women like every other woman, with all the qualities that every women has, and most every capacity, including marriage and every other domain of life. My request it is to enable access for children with disabilities to equal opportunities for education.
