Relax...The Season Encourages It

http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/2204354-relax-the-season-encourages-it/

This would obviously apply to those of us in lands where they have a winter season.

I think in the fast paced, modern societies many of us live in today, many of us forgo relaxing daily.Because of the choices we make, we shy away from having balance in our lives. Often we take on too much. We fill up our days with too many things to do, etc. Sometimes the unavoidable demands of our lives, our daily responsibilities consume our time leaving little to no time to relax. Sometimes our relationships, depending on the health of them can way us down andstress us. For some of us, the actual state of relaxing causes anxietyand stress because manyof the societies we live inhave conditioned us to believe that one is only worthy when he/she is productive or because we were conditioned by our parents much like the societies we live in through our regular observationsand exposure to their extreme busyness, their having engaged usconstantly in activities, and/or because ofwhat they taught us through their words. Moreover, because our bodies have gotten souse toa go, go, go routine, the release of cortisol, which is known to contribute to belly fatand/or other stress hormonesinto our bloodhas/have wired our brains andwound up our bodies to such a degree that it's very difficult to relax or nearly impossible. Relaxing should be a right as our bodies and thedifferent parts of our bodies namely the brain, the heart, the lungs, the eyes, the limbs, the cells of our bodies, etc.need to relax to recover, to rejuvenate, to function normally and optimally, to prevent disease, etc.

How one relaxes, that is, ways and/or activities that one engages in to relax is very personal and individual. For me, writing is very relaxing while at the same time challenging. For someone else, writingmay not be...it may be stressful for him/her.I think it'sbest to have and usea variety of ways to relax, that is, if one has a means and has the time.Simply resorting to the same ones may limit one. When we branch out, it gives us the opportunity to learn more about ourselves and to possiblydiscover ways that help us relax in more profound ways or in different ways. As you know, humans can tend tobe creatures of habit. Often we get into our routines and stick to them like glue. Why fear or resist changethat could be beneficial? Why fear or resistemerging from our comfort zones, comfort zones that hold us back sometimes or a lot of times? For those of us who are living inWinter climates right now, how about we embrace the seasonmore bymixing it up to see all of what God has to offer us.

Here's to relaxing daily!!!
