Refreshing skills for the unemployed

In today's modern world, it is not always easy for someone who is unemployed (either as a graduate or as a professional going back to work) to refresh his or her skills. Refreshing skills enables one to remember what was learnt before either in school or previous job. Most skills require dedication and practice, as the saying goes 'practice makes perfect'.

Most companies organise trainings, seminars and workshops for employees but how do the unemployed ones refresh their skills so as to get updated with current events in their industry?. Most people who are unemployed for a long time have no idea of the current changes in their industry either because they have no access to information or lack of money. Refreshing skills most times require money and most unemployed people cannot afford the money.

I believe that apart from connecting with each other, we should also notify each other of the latest events/trainings/seminars/workshops in our respective industries (both paid and free). You might be helping someone somewhere in the world without even knowing. INFORMATION IS KEY!
