Reflection on my interview

Were you nervous before your interview? If so, tell us how you overcame your fears. If not, tell us the source of your confidence.

I wasn't nervous... just extra cautious to not ask leading questions.

What did you do really well during your interview?

I had written the interview questions prior to the interview, but I didn't go strictly by them. I was attentive to the interviewee, listening to what she had to say, and that led me to ask great follow up questions. Being an attentive listener DEFINITELY made the interview more fulfilling and I could feel the flow of the article before I had the time to sit down and write it.

What do you want to work on improving for next time?

I hope to be even more concise in my writing, but definitely not at the cost of dampening my voice. I think that as a citizen journalist, it is important to write a lot like how I speak.
