Traditional Embroidery promoting the Culture of the North West Region Cameroon "Tugho"

In the context of the North west and south west region crises have caused a lot of disaster and closing down of shops. A lot of persons with disabilities in the domain of arts and crafts now work in their homes. Security challenges do not give them access to training centers. Also, mobility challenges and displacement stand as a barrier to their business activities. We experience many days of lock down causing limited days to access centers.

The goal of my initiative is “To empowerment and enhance skills of women and girls with disabilities in arts and craft to promote culture and peace building in the North West Region of Cameroon.

To achieve this goal, I will use the following strategies;

a)    Identify women and girls with disabilities in the domain of craft

b)   Creating a friendly/safe space for empowerment.

  • Economic Power
  • Peace & Security
  • Arts & Culture
  • Disability Justice
  • Gender-based Violence
