Seeking
Encouragement
And so I signed on the mentorship program for the Change Makers' lab members as a mentee.
Though I had this little apprehension on who my mentor would be, I know the Change makers' lab team did a great job and picked a well suited mentor for me, Efe Alexander Omordian.
Looking at her profile I felt like a little fish in the ocean, and I wondered how the mentoring program would be. I dispised the idea of someone high up there looking down at me.😁
Now I know my fears were needless. She turned out to be some one i could talk to and would listen ,that being the major thing I desired from a mentor.
After our first meeting, I decided that the area I needed her to mentor me through out of my most crucial needs presently, was to get my non profit registered . Today, we had our second meeting via zoom and set a target to get my documentations needed by the second week of January. At the end of the meeting, there is the need for me to cross check with the board of trustees I have chosen. They need to be people who have clean criminal records, intergrity and people who will be available and committed to life Aid's cause.
This process of gathering all documents needed for the registration will offer me another opportunity to look critically at the vision and mission of the nonprofit and make adjustments if need be.
Registering this nonprofit has been like a Herculean task. I had started some years back, but abandoned it half way. I see me crossing this bridge with the push from my mentor. We achieve great things by putting our hearts to what we want to do, but achieve greater things when we have others urging us on.
I absolutely agree that we are stronger together!
PS
I will be sharing as the registration of life Aid goes.
