first-story
We were born twins fimale, and first born. I called Petrolina and my twin called Paskalina.
We got polio at one and ahala year old. My parents'life were very poor.
Because of our disability our relatives discriminated against us, called names and unkind words.
All those were hearting my heart every day of my life, especially when my parents started took us to the hospitals. My mother suffered to take care of us alone when my father was back home.
When we were in the hospitals I saw people go to love Paskalina much than me! I amazed and I didn't understand how that has been happening.
When I was in the hospitals, I used to see how mothers were suffering with their disabled children.
And that was where my dream to help others began.
So far, I thank God because I do what I passionated to, even though I am still not help them the way I want, I believe that day i will be able to.
Thank world pulse to be our voices
