Repeatedly raped by the principal at the age of 15

Raj Khadka, the then principal of Blooming Lotus English Secondary School in Itahari, has stated that he has been raped many times for two years. He said that his case was not heard even after filing a complaint of rape.

The 21-year-old said that although she did not have the courage to go out since the incident took place seven years ago, she now stands with hope after seeing the crowd gathered for the victim who participated in the beauty pageant. She says her case came out of a Facebook account called "Ray Gina" and the rape was exposed.

The victim reached the police again

The girl had reached the Area Police Office, Dharan in 2074 BS and lodged an FIR. Stating that a complaint was lodged in Dharan after the police suggested lodging a complaint in Dharan for the first time, the victim told KTM Daily that the man had absconded immediately after the complaint was lodged.

The police had lodged a complaint and filed a case before the Sunsari District Court. Although the accused was absconding after the court issued the arrest warrant, the victim has complained that he is now running the school openly. "I was young then," she says. There was no one to speak for me. I did not know about the legal process. When I went to Dharan and filed a complaint, I did not get justice. The accused absconded. The accused is still living openly. But police have not been able to arrest him.

The victim's full statement is as follows:

I did not have the courage to come out as it happened 7 years ago but now seeing the crowd gathered for Susmita, I am standing here with hope, now my case has come out and the rape has been exposed.

The incident took place around the year 2015/16.

I was a student of Blooming Lotus English Secondary School in Itahari. I was repeatedly raped by the then principal Raj Khadka. I used to live in a hostel and I was in 9th grade when it all started. I had a chest problem at the time, my father once sent money from abroad to his (principal's) account for my treatment, (I will explain later why he sent money to his account, not to his mother's account) then he told me to go straight from school to the hospital with the principal. The principal took me straight to the hotel instead of taking me to the hospital. He told me to eat something but I refused. I was scared and I was sweating and he told me to come here and it would not be hot. I was 15 then. He locked and locked the room and told me to eat in a flattering voice, I refused again. He then tore my school uniform and raped me. He also made a video of it and used it every time to blackmail me. This process continued for 2 years till my SEE. He raped me in the bathroom, science lab, computer lab, office, hostel room, everywhere. He did not allow me to go home even on vacation. If I went home, my studies would be ruined, so he told me that it would be better to stay in a hostel. Let me clarify my point above. My father sent money to the principal's account because his daughter was studying well and it was better for him not to go home. My parents would not let me go home, my parents would always let me stay in the hostel believing her, my mother would stay 5 minutes away from school, and also the principal would take me to the hospital, it all sounds like a movie doesn't it? But this is the real story of my life. I told my friends everything that had happened, but no one believed me. I have been a good hockey player since I was a child, so everyone blamed my character. No one believed I was a victim, no one took my side. I was alone in my war. I told this to the principal's wife (he had a wife and a son at the time), but she did not speak for me either. I tried unsuccessfully to commit suicide 3 times in school (within 2 years). Neither I died, nor was my problem solved. After the SEE, the family dared to say this but did not get justice, the rapist escaped and my case is still ongoing, they say. When I follow up, the police say when are you looking for a rapist? It's been 7 years but where is the rapist? In the end, I lost hope of getting justice and stopped following the police, but when I hear shouting for justice on social media I am repeatedly shocked by that incident and I cry all night remembering my past as a weak girl.

I have heard that the rapist is in Kathmandu and is working as the principal of a school.
