People Who Passed Away from Enforced Disappearance

Victims during the Tamil Genocide of 2009 perpetrated by the Sri Lankan government handed their children to the Sri Lankan Army during the final days of the war. To this day, the Sri Lankan government has not released them or their whereabouts. The parents of these children still do not know where their children are and have continued to search for them. Many have grieved and died in their search for their missing children. These parents have been searching for their children for the past 13 years without success. There has been no response from the Sri Lankan government so far, and only personal stories have been spread about this by word of mouth.

I urge the Human Rights Commission and Organizations to bring justice and closure for these families and parents. Many of these parents have continued their search with great pain and tears, wondering where their children have been. More than 111 documented parents have passed away in search of their children and without response. Many men and women have lost their wives/husbands; many have lost their grandparents as well. None have received as response and their stories go unheard of from the U.N. Recently, I have been collecting and keeping records about these details on behalf of these parents and have been documenting their missing children. This has been a longstanding project of mine, and I wish to compile all this information to present to human rights agencies to help these parents find their missing loved ones.
