A message for Peace
I often think about Odessa in late May 2019.
Where we talked with and learnt from peacebuilders about their efforts to build and sustain a culture of peace
...
We strolled through markets
(I found my 'angry woman' tee shirt)
We savoured local food and sipped tea watching people go by...
We strolled to the sea
And I thought about how our ocean connects us ...
...
A Year Ago - we came together in #globalsolidarity across Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict including our regional network GPPAC Pacific speaking out against the war and a militarized approach as the only option.
...
Today, when I remember #Odessa, I think about the women, children, and men who I passed in the streets - met in stores - who worked in our hotel and the local supermarket..
I can only hope and pray for them.
It makes me think how as global citizens, we cannot be disconnected from... are not immune from the suffering of others - no matter the distance.
...
Today, #peacebuilding remains the biggest under investments in a world when we should value #conflictprevention & #nonmilitarised solutions to #stopthewar
