I hate hunger. I had been a hungry girl. I lived in abject poverty. The past experience made me to resolve within me to fight poverty and hunger in whatever disguise they present themselves.
So Otun Food Bank and our free farm for females are two major instruments that I have decided to fiercely used. Our food banks open in Lagos and Owo Ondo State every Sunday.
We focus on women only. Women will definitely feed their children selflessly.
In Owo, we focus on old women.
Hunger is real . Hunger is evil. Hunger is deadly. Hunger is sickness. Hunger is depressing and ultimately it can cause avoidable and unnecessary death.
In Ondo State, we do home deliveries to very old women. Our major focus are old women who do not have biological children.
Yesterday , we opened in Owo metropolis only. We didn't travel to other towns in Ondo State and we specifically decided to select the poorest.
At exactly 2pm we drove out with loads of foodstuffs.
Yes. We filled Otun Food bags ags with more enough foodstuffs for more than a month for each woman.
At the first stop is an old client...immediately she sighted our vehicle, she stood up and as I stepped out of the vehicle, she burst into tears and said........
I have no biological child of my own, I live alone and in distress, when I woke up this morning, I had no food to eat and I looked up and said, God where is that child that you send to bring food to me???..... and here you are with bag filled with food.... she stretched her hand and pointed at my face...she added... You woman, you searched me out and pointed a finger of food towards my life, Your hands will not wither... you will lack no good things of life....tears rolled down her face as she prayed....
I Was moved to tears too as I answered Amen as she prayed.
That was our first point of food delivery. I had enough prayers and old woman blessings for the day.
We delivered and moved to another older woman I Ekusi street, who had no children.... As I stepped and she saw me, she went on both knees and hit her forehead on the ground. I knelt down beside her and repeated what she was doing...
She was praising God and thankful to God Almighty that she would have food to eat, food is king. I am his queen.
I Love foodstuffs delivery at the doorsteps of old women who have no alternatives to good life. I am happy that we have 40 acres of land to farm and determination sisters who support us.
The struggle continues but victory is certain.
In our tribe.
