I recently had the opportunity to interview activist Lisa Shannon about her organization, Run for Congo Women, and her newly released book, A Thousand Sisters. It was an exciting experience, from reading the book, which I recommend to everyone, to speaking with Lisa herself. I'll be posting an article about the interview on wphr.org, a site called World Poverty and Human Rights that provides a forum for people to write and read about current humanitarian and development issues. I would also like to publish an article in Foreign Policy Magazine and have sent them a proposal. I'm quite new to writing for public consumption and I feel nervous. Wish me luck!
