New Take Action section is live!

Hi all! I’m here again with news on site enhancements. This time, I bring you a whole new section we have envisioned thanks to all of your feedback and insights: Take Action.

The ‘Take Action’ section of WorldPulse.org will provide better visibility to all members of the community who have added “Seeking” tags to their stories and initiatives. As the name implies, Take Action will help readers support members who have shared stories or initiatives in a way that is meaningful to the story poster.

This new feature is possible thanks to the hard work of World Pulse team members Ana Laura Lozano and Dawn Arteaga, who have listened, gathered, analyzed and, organized all your feedback from the Annual Community Vote, in one-one-conversations, World Pulse virtual community events, the Changemaker Lab training program, and in each magic opportunity we have when we get to connect and chat about how to improve and keep this amazing community moving forward.

How does the new Take Action page work on World Pulse?

Select your call to action

It starts with the stories and initiatives you share. You now have specific tagging options when you create content that allows you to identify what you are Seeking from your post. You’ll also see a new option to select your Call to Action.

Depending on the Seeking Tag you select (Encouragement, Connections, Feedback, Collaboration, Action, or Visibility), you’ll have specific options for Calls to Action that you can add to your post. For example, in the screenshot below, you can see that I have selected ‘Visibility’ and I can then select a Call to Action that relates to ‘Visibility’: ‘Share to your network’ or ‘Suggest a media outlet’:

If you are seeking ‘Encouragement’, you’ll see Call to Action options like ‘Say what you think’ and ‘Tap Love’.

And… just let it roll!! The community is there for you

Published stories or initiatives that have Seeking tags and Calls to Action show up on a new Take Action section. Find the take action section on the bottom menu, alongside existing sections such as MyPulse, Explore and Community.

The Take Action page includes stories and initiatives grouped by Seeking cards. Select the type of action you would like to take (ie: provide encouragement, connections, feedback, offer collaboration, etc).

When you click on a card, you’ll find a list of stories from members who are looking for that specific kind of community support. Just click on the button to access the story and tap love, add a comment with your thoughts about the post, offer a partnership or collaboration, send a private message, or any other action the author is requesting to take. What’s next?

We’re excited to see what impact this new feature creates! As you use the feature and share your feedback with us, we’ll add more calls to action as we hear from you on what you are seeking. Keep sharing those stories and tagging them with the support you need!

On World Pulse, we support each other — that’s the World Pulse Spirit. We are just adding a new way for all of us to ask for what we need and show up for each other at every opportunity we have.
