Never give up your career/job. NEVER

Good morning. It's not a story but the best advice a girl can get. We women don't take our financial independence seriously. We think I got my father, I got my husband, I got my children. We are wrong. We don't realise what we give in exchange. We give up our power, not just freedom but power to be where we want to be, to buy the food we want, to live the life we want, to command the respect we deserve. We don't realise the seriousness of it till we have resigned our jobs and try living a normal life. No one told me this because my mom was a working woman. I was a working woman. I did not see the other side of my father, my family and this society until I spent enough time not having a job. So noone discussed it with me. I was not in that place to be talked to. That's the case with most women who resign their jobs for the sake of their children/ family. They don't realise what they are giving up. No one expects us to do this sacrifice. We do it partly because it is our second nature to be at home and nurture the family. But it doesn't come with the dignity or respect or even the freedom we deserve. Mind you, earn your own living, to get that right kind of love with respect from your parents, relatives, friends and even your own children. Lett alone the society. Talk, open your mouth and literally talk about this to your girl child or your girl students or whoever it is that you know has to be awakened from the delusion that she doesn't have to earn her own living. Girl you don't know what you are giving up.
