My Journey and what I've learned

My initiative is to help young professionals build their capacity with their finances so they can truly experience the freedom to live debt-free, with enough money saved for emergencies, and the ability to make passive income with long term yields.

Financial Literacy is the ability to understand and effectively use various financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.  Financial literacy is the foundation of your relationship with money, and if is a lifelong journey of learning.  The earlier you start, the better off you will be because education is the key to success when it comes to money https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/financial-literacy.asp.

From Module 1, I learned to set my Smart Goals and SWOT.

MY VISION

In 8 months, I will begin to train 10 young professionals to build their capacity on managing their finances to an action and changes in behavior that turns into financial literacy.  To achieve this, I will collaborate with people who have the expertise on financial management and share practical self-financial improvement tips.  It will be an online workshop to be conducted  once a month.  Thus, I hope that every participants will be empowered to have a freedom to live debt-free, with enough money saved for emergencies, and has the ability to make a long term passive income.

Module 4 helped me build my building blocks for my initiative.

Module 3 thought me the importance of storytelling and how to tell a good story and making sure to address the three core questions: the why, the what and the how; and that your call to action is clear way for the readers to response (my elevator pitch).

Module 5 talks about crowdfunding, grant writing 101, and bootstrapping.  I learned a lot about the best practices crowdfunding with GoFundMe.  I resonate about our session discussion and some questions like issues where the platform don't work in your country or how they protects donors from fraudulent fundraisers.  I have shared strategy from the past crowdfunding campaign with World Pulse Philippines.  I learned the main key is communication and connection.  You need a TEAM who believe, support and contribute.

The Changemakers Lab session started last July 2022 and we are about to end soon.  The World Pulse Team as we run our initiatives make sure that we also learned safety and security in the space including to care for our mental health.

My self-care practices is to watch the training lessons at my own pace, deciding what lesson works for my initiatives. I make sure to take notes by saving pdf file to my folder so I don't need to find it again.  When I joined the live session, I make sure that I listen and participate with questions.  I love our session about sharing our failures.  It shows that we are working in progress, we make mistakes and nobody is perfect.  However, through our mistakes, we learn and continue to improve ourselves.

The Changemakers Lab is a great way to learn and connect.
