MY JOURNEY

I come from sub saharan African from a beautiful country known as kenya.Am a teacher by profession in the republic of kenya and a father of two.I work in a poor community where basically most of the community members leave below a poverty line

The most challenge am facing now is to mobilise the community members to attend school since i know that education is power.I would like to empower my community by ensuring that a greater percentage of the people get basic education especially girls and women.

Right now have taken an action by teaching basic computer and entreprenueral skills to the women from the community and girls in school.so far i have done 8 cohorts which all successfully went through a training for six weeks and awarded a certificate most of the women whom have introduced to the world pulse platfoam

I encourage most of the women in my community who already left school either after going through the basic national education system or not to enroll for this classes and even join community based tertiary colleges to get more basic skills in other fields which can make them self reliant in future

Am supporting the women have taught on how to mobilise funds so that they can put the enterprenuaral skills in practise by starting some businesses and [ut the knowledge to practise.Am supported by the World Vision Kenya chapter Matete ADP,which is a co-sponsor others include NetHope,World Pulse,UKaid etc

For me to continue successfully i need to source for some funds so that i can support these women whom i have taught and formed groups so that they may use as capital to start there businesses or boost the businesses they already have.

I also need to be trained more on computer and entreprenuaral skills so that i can impart the same to the trainees i deal with which will in turn change the community
