My Journey

I live in the U.S. but originally from Bamenda, Cameroon. I grew up in a semi large family and I was a \"gift child' to my mother's cousin who did not have any children. Was raped by a family member at age 12 and denied it, supported by his wife who is my cousin. I lived a very confused life from then on, not understanding why, which is a very common occurrence with young girls in my community where men prey on children and get away with it. My goal is to educate mothers about their children, how to nurture them, leave open lines of communication so they can share their feelings and when they are threatened or hurt. Support girls and women to be financially independent through micro finance projects that are managed by the women for the women.
