My Hankie (scribbles in solitude - 10)

21 May 1982

I am a rolling stone
Too bad, they say
But, I think otherwise
It is the rolling stone that
reaches the sea, somehow

I am a rolling stone
An insignificant, tiny one
You are bigger … and you are ahead
Do not block my way
Just let me pass you by
If you find time to rest
If the rapids are not strong enough
to carry you away

I am a rolling stone
I produce no moss
I am easy to hold … and easy to step on
I will not slip from your hand
Nor will I slide from you foot

Pick me up,
But please put me back gently to the water
Step on me, but please do not kick me to the
riverbank, or bury me by stepping too hard
Just leave me here, to keep on rolling
Until I reach the sea
See you there … one day …
