My Great Grand-Ma's Struggles Made Me Who I Am Today!

As the 'First Ever' in 'World History' hand selected Executive Director of the former United Nation Association of All of Greater Huntsville and The TN Valley - Doc Friedman stated she feels so privileged and blessed knowing she's now trusted with an even greater responsibility of leading aneven 'Larger' more diversebunch of great people. People whom are very passionate about what they do which is helping others. Doc Pope Friedman and her group accomplished in two months what most would require two years to accomplish.

Having already established a UN Friendly presence within Huntsville, Alabama. With the 'Meto' name of 'One UN Plaza', Huntsville, AL 35802'; they have established only the second such address in the world, which reflects a 'UN friendly' location known by the name of whom they support which is ultimately the United Nations.

This presence is second to none other than the United Nations Headquarters itself, situated at 44th street and 1st avenue in New York New York. Doc Friedman says... she came about contemplation of the action by 'divine inspiration'. (Google 'One UN Plaza, Huntsville' and you will find their World Headquarter for'Centres for Peace andEqual Human Rights' - )

During the interview, Doc Friedman went on to say... \" My Great Grammy endured so much before having finally been called home in the late 1990's. I remember sitting on her front stoop in Tuscumbia, Alabama USA when I was atiny girl with extremely long hair. She had a consistent ritual of brushing my hair 100 times in each direction North South East and West under a newmoon. Some called it superstition, she called it 'tried and proven' tradition as she was part Cherokee Indian.

She had a sterling silver set comprised of asilver comb, brush, and glass mirror with an elaborately designed silver edging to hold the two. \"I will never forget how attentively she brushed my hair while telling me I'd do great things in life before leaving this Earth\". Great Grammy was so kind knowing my shyness would be a huge barrier. It's hard to achieve great things without choosing to use one's voice to speak. I was a very quiet reserved child however bright in mind. Yet I wonder if it wasn't just 'wishful thinking'?\" Doc Friedman stated. She wondered if she might ever accomplish anything great in the world the way her great grandmother said.

\"While I have accomplished much, most of it has been behind the scenes, ever how transformational. I guess in reality, she was right.\" Doc went on to say.

Doc added...\"Great Grammyhad many superstitions, yet oddly enough they seemed to work. One example is the clipping of the ends of my hair on the night of a full moon after 6 pm. My hair grew phenomenally whenever she did this. But of course the hair that fell there could not be swept away at night because she also believed that to sweep in front of your home after 6 pm meant to sweep away your blessings for the next day. I often wondered if her superstitions stemmed from the Cherokee Indian blood, European blood,African blood or otherwise?\"

\"My grandma may have had superstitions but at the end of the day, she taught me much about life. So much so, that the one time I went against something she taught me, I paid dearly for thatdecision; \"You live and you learn\" she would always say - and that I did. Yet she also taught me 'who I truly am' which is key.\"

\"She taught me to always stay true to myself - and I have come to learn in my maturity that she is right. She also taught me of the power of secrecy as well as the power of discernment.\"

\"We are whom we are today because of whom was around us as we grew up - and how we allowed them to influence us, both good and bad.\" Anonymous
