I had never heard about the term down syndrome until I met with Aidriking's mom Mme Antonia. Aidriking is a child with down syndrome. I got to know him and he gave me a pet name "choue".
At first, I didn't understand him when he speaks but as I kept spending time with him, I started understanding him. And we could communicate without any problem. Sometimes, I will take him to and from school.
I learned a lot from his mom on how to communicate with him that is, through visuals, being animating during interactions, staying physically close to him, and most importantly being patient.
Children with down syndrome can actually live normal lives like every other person
