My Background - A Prequel

I love my background; it's rich with family, love, creativity, education and incredibly adventurous and exhilarating experiences. It also is filled with sadness, loss, suffering, abuse, and tremendous failures. What I value is the dichotomous nature of my life; seemingly contrary experiences that came together to form the person I am today.

I learned years ago that there is no value in comparing my experiences with others; rather, we can only learn from sharing with one another and truly listening to what we have to say. I hesitate to \"list\" the various installments of my life - that will come through dialog with others. Instead, I want to communicate that I know we have more in common than not; regardless of our varied backgrounds, we are women; we are mothers and daughters; we are sisters; we are wives, lovers, friends, and companions; we are widows. Our common experiences link us together enough to wrap this globe at least once, if not more!
