My Asset Map

Name one or more hopes and/or dreams you have for yourself and your community. What skills are you most

I have a vision to build a community of women who are confident omen who are ready to drive the change they want to see. I see women living daily waiting for a change to move them to their desired result but they are not ready to stand up and challenge circumstances holding them down because they do not have the tools/capacity move. Women married to persons with disabilities wish that one day they society will one day become aware that the impairments are not necessarily disabling but the society set disabling situations and make persons with disabilities handicapped. My dream is to find this women moving the change they want to see by leading advocacy on inclusive policies and practices, moving beyond the statement of \"do it for them to do it for us because i affect all of us\"

For myself my dream is to motivate as many as possible in my life time and live a legacy that will to motivate others towards social inclusion of all.

One skill I am proud of is my ability to communicate my thought and help others have insight through teaching. One of the ways I use this skills is to inspire other people to become more thoughtful and inclusive of the vulnerable and marginalized in the society. I do this through outreach programmes, seminar and workshop facilitations, blogging and other public comments.

One major place that inspire me is in the community of persons with disabilities: I see individual living beyond the set societal boundaries, breaking barriers through technology and making a change. I usually feel safe in this group.

In seeking direction I seek advice from people who have led positive change in our society. One of such women is Mrs. Dotun Akande who is a parent to child with Autism and in the process of parenting decided to meet the need in the society which is the need for a learning center for children with autism. To Patrick Speech and Language center is the first and only autism specific center in Nigeria. She is listens and ready to groom younger women.

In addressing the issue I am passionate about which is the passion to increase disability awareness by building partnership with all voices. I have dedicated my time and money in making intervention.
