Music is the rhythm of the soul...

I recently took a short trip to Florida to defrost a bit after a long (and still dragging) Wisconsin winter. While there, I savored every scent, site and sound... wafts of orange blossoms, rustling palm trees, rhythmic ocean waves and transcendent sunsets. On my last night there, I was invited to a show at a locals hangout. I love going to see live bands. The group was made up of 4 or 5 old guys who could really jam. But then, in the second set, a young woman goes up and joins them. She barely looks up at the crowd, grabs the microphone and begins to sing. My jaw drops. It was as if her entire body was taken over by Song itself. She sang with power, grace and force. Her voice climbed octaves more quickly than a flute. Her rich lows made my heart rumble in my chest. I've heard many beautiful singing voices - but never anything so raw.

A week later, I had a dream. This time, the Song spirit came over me. I sang, and I sang. I sang deep from the soul and I felt completely free - as if I had no body, but only soul. I woke up knowing such a vivid and powerful dream was a message.

This is the message: I must gather songs from everywhere for our \"I Am Not Cut\" video project. In every country there are incredible singers and musicians that capture the spirit of freedom in their song. I just need to ask for them. So I am asking you now. If anyone reading this knows of a singer or songs that are uplifting and empowering to women, please, please, please send me their names - and if you have it, I'd love an mp3! You can even record yourselves and send it along.

Thank you for allowing me to share,

Peace & Love,

~Lili
