The Memoirs of Colonel General Yuri D. Danilov by Ken De Villers



The main character: Yuri Danilov A.K.A. Joseph M. Little Wolf, one man-two lives. Born in 1931 in Kiev, the Ukraine, Mother, Anna Danilov- an assistant professor at Kiev University. Anna and her brother Ivan Danilov were close friends to Nikita Khrushchev and his family.



Dennis Little Wolf- Father of Yuri. Dennis was raised on the White Earth Indian Reservation on the North West edge of Minnesota.  He grew up working as a chore boy on a Sugar Beet farm near Fargo, North Dakota.  Educated as a design engineer and an outspoken Communist. He worked for the Soviet government in the Heavy Industry Bureau designing trucks and new battle Tanks.  In 1941 Dennis died when his cargo ship, carrying land lease Tanks to the Soviets was torpedoed.



Anna and Yuri, age 10 were in Minnesota at the Reservation visiting the Little Wolfe family at the time.  Anna was hoping to find a way back to the Soviet Union. Anna was also a communist.



Ivan Danilov- a Soviet commander from the days of the civil war and then a General during the Patriotic War (World War II.  Ivan by Ukraine tradition assumed the role of Father to Yuri.



Takeaway value” My favorite reading has been “Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee” by Dee Brown, which tells the story of Chief Red Cloud of the Oglala Sioux band and how the US slowly destroyed the Indian Tribes in North America.



My Historical Novel is set in many of the places where the author was stationed while in the Air Force, namely:

Kunsan, South Korea



Misawa, Japan



Langley AFB VA



Edwards AFB CA
