Happy Father's Day To You¶¶¶

19th June every year has be designated as Father's Day. Actually, this year I must say I was really impressed with the publicity of the celebration, it was not as cold as we see in the previous years. Immediately as we entered the month of June almost every social media and rest took to it advert, honestly I was impressed with all that.

It is highly time we bring father's in the picture, acknowledge them for who there are at least. I know we can't compare a mother to a father, but you do agree with me each of them have specific roles that there all play that put a family in the rightful deposition.

A fatherly figure is very important in the upbringing of any child. And if I may ask you... Who do you think is a fatherly figure?

In response to your question, a fatherly figure is the head of the family biblically. What does it means to be a head of a family as a father? As a father and head you over sees all the happening in the family. It's is your duty to create, implement and evaluate all happening. Meaning, honestly if things goes wrong you must be held responsible, blamed for it and critize for letting it happened.

Since it's your duty to create implement and evaluate, you have identify every child's need, create and design the future of that particular child. Here you act like a mini God. It is your responsibility to see the future of the kid and evaluate when things goes wrong to make sure your child get to the target you set for them. Fatherly figure is not only about marrying and producing children!

Again, you come in when all hope is lost from the children through out the mother. There all have messed things up and no way out. Here it is you that will make things up, give them the hope, bring back reality to life. You will help them stand back on their feet, bring them back their joy and the smiles faces. So as a father, are you the above fatherly figure?

It's is also your duty to inculcate discipline through godly wisdom. What do I mean by this? Godly wisdom will help you seek for God holy spirit support to raise your kids. Since not all discipline yield the needful result. Discipline with love for your children and fear if God. If you love your children whilst you discipline or trained them, the will not grow to resent your discipline and training. And if the fear of God is in you whilst you discipline and train your kid, you will always be humble to consult others when you go wrong in you training and reprove yourself.

Again, I ask you do you have the above fatherly figure?

Patience is the Hallmark of a fatherly figure. The patience to correct all wrongs, the patience to start all over again with every child, the patience to keep on dealing with their falling. If you don't have this quality patience then forget thinking of or dreaming to be called a father.

A father must always be accessible for the family. Someone to always run to for shelter. Are you there as a shelter for your kidus and wife? Daddy, Daddy, oh Daddy is not home yet. Where are you? When your family needs you? You are not a fatherly figure! Being there is a Must not an excuse!

If for whatever reasons made you left and didn't fill that gap that day you MuST compensate for your absence and promise it never repeat itself then you can win the trust back.

So are you still that fatherly figure?

A father takes all the "bullets" of the family. All the bad stuffs comes back to the father. Drop out from school is equal to the father, wayward kids is equal to the father, broken family is equal to the father, poverty is equal to the father. I mean everything comes back to the father because you are suppose to create, implement and evaluate. Where were you? You certainly did something wrong?

So again if you are not ready to take up all the bad stuffs thine you can't be called a father.

It's not easy to be a father indeed! I don't intend to put fear in anyone but just that this is the reality of life. And if others could make it why not you? It's worth trying! Make sure you get all the rules right before entering to take that position. If you do so, you will enjoy and come to be celebrated like today.

I celebrate my late Dad on this Father's day celebration. He died when I was at my teenage stage but I remember he was always there for us as he could. When our mother got stuck with the school fees then our Dad will come in a release her. I could see the love in their eyes then even as they struggle to hold the home. When there got separated , after Dad came back to amend things but I guess it was too late mother didn't allowed it. I suspect this also created his early death. He travelled after the separation and then return after few years with sickness and died.

Daddy, I know you have done your very best for us as kid and would have done more if here. You were always there when there was a call. You had godly fear and strong love for us, you provided for us, and above all you were humble. You accepted your mistakes and came back to say sorry to mother to return in Union with you but she declined. You did your very best and we are all glad you fathered us.
