Today I am talking about the life that the majority of middle-aged women in Sri Lanka are living.
Sri Lanka has not been a developed country since then. If I say that it is a bankrupt country nowadays, I am right. I do not underestimate my country. It is the bitter truth. As far as I know women in Sri Lanka have less problems compared to women in many other countries. With our culture and especially the teachings of Buddhism, women are not subjected to significant injustices.
Our country has free education. Up to the first degree, education can be pursued for free. Today, compared to the past, women go to higher levels of education. But most women of my mother's age, especially women between 30-50 years old, are out of work, working at home and taking care of children. That's not really the problem. If the husband can afford the living expenses, there is no problem for a woman to stay at home with the children.

As for their sex life, I don't think many people are satisfied with it. That's why middle-aged women get involved in extramarital affairs. The husband works hard in the morning and evening to earn money. It is really difficult for a common man to find the cost of living in Sri Lanka if he did not work hard. Then the husband fails to please his wife.
Another big problem is that many housewives of that age forget to maintain their beauty. After having children, they live as older women than their husbands. This happens in many families in normal families.
In fact, according to social science, many middle-aged women in Sri Lanka live trapped in one frame of life. Most of the money earned is enough to eat and drink. Parents in Sri Lanka will do anything for their children. They forget the role of lovers when they become parents.
”At just 36.6% percent, female labor force participation in Sri Lanka is low; further, having a child under age five at home makes women 7.4 percent less likely to join the labor force than women without young children.”
The economic situation in Sri Lanka also affects these. The difficulty of living is that most people's lives run in the same cycle every 24 hours.
Some women bear the burden of the family. Many women in Sri Lanka who do not have higher education work in menial jobs in garments. Even if they don't get much salary from them, those women support their family with that salary. There are very courageous women in our country. But it is doubtful that many of them enjoy their family life and sex life as they wish.

Recently I saw an anonymous post on Facebook. Simply put, it was her frustration with that woman's sex life because her husband's sister was always at her house. They live in a small rented house with only one room. When the husband's sisters come, they all have to sleep in the same room. Sister is 19 years old. It is unfortunate that someone so young has no idea about it. Sri Lanka's sexual and social education system is so weak.
I wrote this from the experiences that I often see and hear in society. I know this is not common for all. But, I have heard that this is a problem among many people of this age, specially in middle class families in Sri Lanka. I have no idea how it is in other countries. But I see this as a big flaw in Sri Lanka's social system that many people don't talk about.
But I am happy to say that our young generation have reached a good life point than them. Most of young girls are studying hard as well as engage in different jobs. There are many young girls who are earning dollars for the country by their own business ideas.
