Message from the President/Founder

At the beginning of the 21st century, ACRO Ghana looks to the future with optimism, confident in the ideals, the enthusiasm and energy of its flourishing community volunteerism and network of Partners around the world.

2010 and 2013 have been years of much greater hope, except our current challenges, in sustaining our activities. In a sense, we had more and more people and institutions moving to engage ACRO Ghana in its field activity. It strengthened us and made us proud of our strikes in making sure the voiceless is heard in areas of policy formulation and implementation.

Nonetheless, there are added challenges that, maybe you and I be interested in finding answers: -

How do we expect to have justice when delinquent young adult who has no knowledge of the law, be tried in Law courts without proper defense?

How do we prevent crime amongst energetic young people who have not been trained to take responsibility and be held accountable for their actions?

How would a society function when individual in realm of affairs plunder its resources instead of contributing to it?

How can we stop youth unemployment and Exodus to Europe and the Americas when IMF and World Bank keep policies that kill local livelihood by liberalizing trade of produce which is heavily subsidized by other governments?

Why do we keep on training young children like manufacturing products with batch numbers instead of the organic type where the right environment is provided for talents to be enhanced to allow children grow well into adulthood?

Yes, they need basic skills and good education. But we have defined \"good\" education too narrowly. If we make it our goal to raise good-hearted, responsible, well-informed citizens who can think critically and solve problems, then maybe we can better meet the needs of children and build stronger societies.

On behalf of ACRO Ghana and on my own behalf thank you, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, community volunteers, volunteers from Germany, FIFA Football for Hope, UEFA for Women Footballs, streetfootballworld Berlin, International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) Berlin, Globalgiving, and all who supported our work in various ways to bring laughter to the faces of many young children in Ghana. Notwithstanding, the battle is not yet won, but, be proud that your contribution, small and large has changed many young lives.
