Menstrual hygiene for girls in villages.

Today I want to talk on menstrual hygiene as my initiative. Menstrual hygiene refers to access to menstrual hygiene products to absorb or collect the flow of blood during menstruation, privacy to change the materials, and access to facilities to dispose of used menstrual management materials. In village you'll see young girls with blood stains on their dresses due to poor menstrual hygiene, some of them do not have sanitary pads, menstrual cups, tampons to used in absorbing their menstrual flow. Some of them goes to an extent of using old dirty clothes to to absorb blood from their flow, some barely know what to do because most of their parents haven't told them on how to handle their flow.

This initiative is important to parents and their girl children, teachers and their female students. If parents fail to teach their kids on menstrual hygiene, then female teachers should be able to help the young naive innocent girls on how to take care of themselves during their menstrual flow. Under hygienic lessons female teachers should be able to emphasize on menstrual hygiene to the girl child, invite them for counselling especially for those who are already seeing their floor.

I plan on helping the girls in my community by organizing  meetings (seminars) that involves just girl children to school them on their menstrual hygiene, how to take care of themselves, the materials to use in case there cannot afford sanitary pads, tampons or menstrual cups.

Also I know a lot of people here may want to know other options to used in the absence of the above mentioned sanitary materials during their periods.

Without the above mentioned materials, one can used hand towels made out of cotton, baby napkins and any other thick absorbing material made out of cotton to absorb their menstrual flow.

After using and Washing them, steep them inside hot water with powder soap over night, wash in the morning and sun dry them and when they are dried iron and put in a good Plastic and place it inside your valis or clean place inside the room to be used the next month.

This materials are some time the best because you don't get to spend on buying sanitary pads every month but it can be used for three to four months before disposal.

When I started seeing my flow I started with those materials because I had no money to purchase sanitary pad since I was from a poor background I had to used what I had at my disposal.

I'll also seek funds from people who are willing to supply little young girls in villages with sanitary pads so we can gift them a packet each while providing them with the other materials that could be used and washed in absence of used and throw sanitary pads since it's not every hoe in the villages that can afford sanitary pads for their kids.

I'll also have a talk with parents on how to improve on their girls menstrual hygiene and to help prevent unwanted infections on their kids due to poor menstrual hygienes.

In villages you often see girls scratching their vagina's, other crying while urinating because of
