Everyday is Menstrual Hygiene day. Women and girls menstruate every day of a monthly calendar yet access to sanitary products, safe, hygienic spaces in which to use them, and the right to manage menstruation without shame or stigma, remain a challenge.
In response to this, CEFLife is working to break the silence around periods, tackle the stigma often associated with them, and raise awareness of the importance of menstrual hygiene for women/girls.
Objective of this initiative:
The main objective of this initiative is to enhance knowledge and access to menstrual hygiene products for women and girls.
Specific objectives include;
- To improve access to menstrual hygiene education and products.
- To reduce period stigma and period poverty-
To improve access to safe hygienic spaces or infrastructures (Toilets) where women and girls can manage their period with dignity.
We plan to:

- Reach out to 10,000 persons through social media sensitization campain - Provide period eduction talk to 200 Adolescent girls in Bamenda, Cameroon.
At the end of these activities, we expect to have the following outcome/result;
- 200 Adolescent girls have improved access to period education and menstrual hygiene products.
- At least 75% of persons reached through social media sensitization campaign have increased knowledge on the importance of proper menstrual hygiene for women and girls.
As long term impact, this initiative will help to break the silence around period, reduce stigma, shaming and taboos often faced by women and girls because of menstruation. Women and girls will also be productive, effective and efficient in their daily activities (be it school, work and business) during their period. And above all women and girls will manage their menstruation with dignity.
