Making difference...

I was thinking.. What does \"making difference\" mean? Does it mean just to change the situation? Or may be it means to change the situation for something better. Or may be its just getting in a new phase from a previous one. After having a brain storming within myself, I googled it. And there, I got the first result from http://www.thefreedictionary.com. There were a lot of answers. But I chose the first one to mention here, which says \"The quality or condition of being unlike or dissimilar\". To me, this unlikeness and dissimilarity of condition should be better than the previous one.

Now, the reason why I'm trying to understand what \"making difference\" actually mean is, I'm trying to find out if I can really make any difference to anyone's life by writing in this community. I'm quite happy with my surroundings. Nothing much unjust has happened to me. Yet I feel like being in a community where I can explain myself, I can say what I feel, what I trust and where I want every lady's position to be can be of some help to me and my friends here. Because, sharing does help. :) So I believe I'll be able to make some difference....

For now, I'm dedicating this poem of Maya Angelou to all my friends in this community. I love this poet. Feels like she writes for me.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.
I say
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me. I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please
And to a man
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.
I say
It's the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth
The swing of my waist
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me. Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say
It's in the arch of my back
The sun of my smile
The ride of my breasts
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say
It's in the click of my heels
The bend of my hair
The palm of my hand
The need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
