M-6 (Trainathon)

The training this time is for women and teens in the new city where I have recently moved to. Here, I have met a lot of women, but here, the story is a bit unique most of these women live with their husbands unlike in the capital where most of the women are single mothers. The women have stories which is somehow a sigh of relief but painful as well. Most of the men do ride motorcycle (boda-boda business) but really do not carter for all the children as they are still mainly rooted in traditions that a boy child is better than a girl child.

This training will be all about girl child education. So, I intend to introduce them to World Pulse and what it does to women around the world and also to myself and what I do. I have shared with a few already but it is going to be in a bigger group this time.

At the training, I would like to share with the women about the importance of keeping girls longer in school, the importance of girl-child education, the risks in early pregnancies and child births and the implications of having too many children, more than we can care for or send to school.

I hope this will help more women keep their girls in school and for the teen mums to choose to go back to school or find something to bring them income to take care of them and their babies. And also hope that the leaders will take up the responsibilities to make sure that they encourage more families to care for all children equally and provide the same kind of care and education need.

My dream is to see that all children especially the girls go to school and become champions of change in the community, so help me reach my goals in any way you can so help me reach my goals in any way you can to facilitate the training, the campaign, the meetings and all that.
