Live to Survive: The Village Girl
From the hollow of the faraway village, a rural girl came to knock on the university doors for the first time to start her scientific career with enthusiasm and steely determination. Upon her arrival, at first glance, the girl noticed the difference: Here there are no uncles or aunts or friends... Only strangers staring at her with amazement and contempt at times. She tried to get close to one of the classmates, asking her about the library to have a book; the girl gave her a condescending look, then left without uttering a word. But the village girl did not give up. She searched and asked until she found what she wanted. In the library, as she searched among the bookshelves, a young man stuck to her on the premise that he was interested in reading the same book she had chosen. Because she was so kind, she shared the pages of the book with him; she sat next to him at a table and began to read the chapters loudly, explaining the dimensions of speech and analyzing the sequence of events. But the boy was looking at her body instead of looking at the book. When she felt ashamed and confused, he tried to prolong her and hold her hand. She panicked and trembled screaming: What do you want from me…leave me alone! Then, the young man told her that he was the son of the professor who taught the subject and that he could make his father give her a high grade if she goes with him for one night. Then he added: I will give you the money to buy better clothes than the rag you are wearing. Come with me, you will not regret it! But the girl refused to give up. She ran out, determined to study day and night in order to excel, and to work in the evening to save on new clothes. Four years later, the girl was dancing with joy at the graduation ceremony, where she was the first in the class and received an award to continue her studies abroad to obtain a master's and doctorate. While giving a speech to the graduates on the podium, she caught a glimpse of the foolish young man who tried to lure her to evil, so she concluded her speech with an expressive sentence while looking at him: Girls...Live to Survive! Never give in to weakness and the devil is never tempted. Be loving to face challenges, break fear and reach the top.
May God bless you for your good deeds and good intentions.
