In 2008 we have proposed a project to be funded by Rising Voices <a href=\"http://rising.globalvoicesonline.org/about/\">http://rising.globalvoicesonline.org/about/</a> we have gotten the fund, and have started implementing \" Empowering Women Activists in Media Techniques ( EWAMT)\". <a href=\"http://rising.globalvoicesonline.org/projects/empowerment-of-women-activists-in-media-techniques-yemen/\">http://rising.globalvoicesonline.org/projects/empowerment-of-women-activ...</a> This project aims to obtain Yemeni women activists, the skills of creation blogs as a new media to express their points of view, and how to use the blogs in publicizing the social issues. We have trained 135 ladies so far. We have a vision to increase the rate of using web 2.0 among Yemeni women. Because of this we are running this project, and we believe that EWAMT is like a candle with other candles, which are lighting up the darkness in Yemen ; we hope that with more blogs and more active conversation the darkness will disappear sonner rather than later.
