Let's Celebrate Our Ambassadors!

Since February, these incredible World Pulse leaders have shared World Pulse with an estimated 540, 000 people!

since February, a group of 75 leaders from 21 countries have been uplifting voices of women in their communities through the World Pulse Ambassador program. According to self-reports, these women leaders have shared World Pulse with more than 540, 000 people! In Some cases they led hands-on trainings about the tools and resources available on World Pulse, in other cases they shared the mobile app with friends over tea, and all shared that they spoke with people about the impact World Pulse has had on their lives.

It is humbling and at the same time, a boost of confidence to continue in what we do because. .. We have that quiet assurance that we are worthy flag bearers of this amazing world of sisterhood, pushing us to keep doing our best. \"

Twice a year, World Pulse invites active World Pulse members to apply for a 6-month Ambassador term. By joining the program, Ambassadors agree to represent World Pulse and uplift women’s voices in their communities through training, outreach, and the mentorship of others. We are amazed at the results and excited to see the power of women coming together and speaking out for change. Ambassadors who expressed interest received promotion on World Pulse channels on social media, email, and our website.

Raising the Volume

From Canada where Tamarack Verrall talked about World Pulse with others nearly every day with more than 1, 000 people, to the Democratic Republic of Congo where Seka shared World Pulse through local trainings with more than 350 people, to Nigeria where Aramide Oikelome shared World Pulse at monthly mentoring sessions with more than 50 women—ambassadors are lifting up others as they connect them to the global sisterhood on World Pulse.

Here are some highlights:

• Adanna from Nigeria shared World Pulse with more than 100 women, including those who she is teaching to code. She said, “Having more women leaders in tech will certainly change the industry for the better. ”


• Lil Fair Trade Shop from UAE reached out to more than 400 people and said, “As a person of color, I believe we shouldn't be labelled and stereotyped by our appearance, our beliefs, our command of the English language and/or the preservation of our beautiful cultures and traditions. I’d like to be recognized for my passion, ingenuity and strength. I’d like to share my experiences to promote a healthy dialogue, empathy, love and tolerance. ”


• Urmila Chanam from India shared World Pulse through the course of her work in Nigeria and Uganda during interviews on radio, newspapers, in 7 training sessions, the Taiwan Youth for Human Rights Summit and more, reaching more than 28, 000 people in total.


• Keturah Shammah from Nigeria said, “I can't recalled how many times I shared about World Pulse. This is because, I share about World Pulse with women I come across. I mostly wear my Ambassador T-shirts which made people to want to know what is all about. ”


• Sherna Alexander Benjamin from Trinidad and Tobago shared World Pulse with 220 people: “approximately 7 times in a group setting and numerous times word of mouth. ”

Empowering Experience

Ambassadors shared that the experience of empowering others with digital tools on World Pulse had the added effect of building their own power, strength, and influence in return.

• jlanghus, from Spain, said, “I feel like I'm more outspoken, confident, gaining recognition for what I do and also that they're are like-minded activists and tribe members out there who get me and that I belong to. ”


• Berlotte, in the US, said, “I decided to become a World Pulse Ambassador because I wanted to use my voice to reach out to more women. This position means a lot to me in my journey as a woman who is always fighting for women's rights and equality. ”


• Pertulla Ezigha Ketcha of Cameroon shared, “I have been able to organize more workshops on storytelling, being a good neighbor, supporting other women and girls, etc. I believe every woman has to be empowered to properly defend herself, so I started a mentorship program to help young girls learn from experienced mentors and own their futures and break stereotypes around gendered careers and professions. ”

World Pulse Ambassadors not only reached new people and strengthened their own voices, they also made our whole community stronger in immeasurable ways.

• Our 12 Kenyan Ambassadors even made time during the 6-month period to gather together at different points. Collectively Bettina Amendi, Fidelity, Janekalu, Kristine Yakhama, Rosylyne Nabaala, and Sabdio Roba reached more than 3, 225 people through their outreach efforts!


• In Democratic Republic of Congo, Esther Atosha introduced more than 100 girls to World Pulse—and the internet!


• Kirthi from India shared World Pulse with more than 400 people at 4 major events and 24 smaller classroom-sized events.


• Otahelp from Nigeria estimates that through her appearances as a TV personality where she shared World Pulse more than 50 times she was able to reach more than 500, 000 people. She said, “I’ll keep pushing people, talking to them, sharing with them that it’s necessary for them to tell their stories. ”


• Kat Haber from the United States shared World Pulse with 103 people through her work as a coach for speakers worldwide.


• Veronica Ngum Ndi from Cameroon estimates she reached 250 women. She shared, “I have done 6 monthly talks to women and girls with disabilities, 3 talks with groups of teen mothers, and 2 talks with university students in 2 universities in the North West Region Cameroon. ”


• Our ambassador from Yemen, who remains anonymous for safety reasons, was able to share about World Pulse via email outreach.

Challenges & Opportunities

This program was the pilot of a new format for Ambassadors that we are excited and invigorated to improve and grow. We heard powerful feedback from our Ambassadors. Emily Miki of Cameroon asked World Pulse to set up Ambassador-led country chapters. Sally Maforchi Mboumien, also of Cameroon, asked World Pulse to help connect Ambassadors with common interests together, and Banjalyz from Kenya and Juliet Acom of Uganda both asked if World Pulse could host more regular virtual meet up calls for Ambassadors to connect. Sophie Ngassa of Cameroon, Uduakedet of Nigeria and Vanessa Rivera de la Fuente of Chile were among those who said it would be highly beneficial to have financial support dedicated to Ambassadors’ work conducting events.

Moving forward, we are thinking carefully about how we can incorporate these ideas into the next Ambassador program, which will run from September to February. World Pulse is energized and excited to equip more community leaders with the tools they need to uplift voices all over the globe.
