Let your Expirience make you better and not bitter. "It is a life lesson and not a life sentence"

Today l stand to fight for gender based violence because l am a product of it. The discrimination l faced from my father made me vow by myself to become an exemplary child to him first and now to my community.

I was denied inheritance from my father. That us so true but l did not hate him, l did not wage war on him, l did not go on physical battle with him like others, l did not take him to court, l understand people do what they do at times because of ignorance.

I became the greatest advocate for peace in my family, l help my father overcome many of his worries and challenges, l partake in solving problems in the family, l did not only talk to my father of the importance of a girl child l put it in action. From all this he saw how worthy l am in the family. He understood l am not a mistake but an asset to the family

Today l stand to testify of having a fair share of my fathers inheritance. In addition to that my father personally took me to his bank and changed his testament. He wrote\" if l should die today everything l have should be handed to this my daughter, she is the only one that can be able to share my property among her siblings and peace will still reign\" .l am glad he understands no matter what happens peace is the most important asset.

This was the starting point for the sensitisation on the importance of the girl child and gender based violent. I am glad l started with my home and now my community where others are facing similar challenges and a lot more. While l do that the first thing l tell women is that our power is in our tongue, us women are abundantly blessed with verbal power. I know , u know, we know we don't have strength to engage in physical battles with men. No doubt the bible says the power of life and death is in our tongue. . Let us use this tongue to speak life, let us use this tongue to solve problems rather than cause problems and above all let us use our tongue to raise and lift other especially other women
