Legal Rights Awareness for university students



On 28 January 2022 , Haki Nawiri Afrika with support from Innovation for Change -Africa organised a Student-Police Dialogue for university students .The forum was held at Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and had 64 participants.The forum discussed the function of the police according to the Police Act, justice process through the National Police Service, role of paralegals in advancing access to justice and what students can do when confronted by injustices.

The platform further provides space for students to raise their legal and justice concerns for example police brutality, mistrust between police and students, corruption within the justice system , reporting cases of rights violation by the police and how to build meaningful relationship between student community and the police.
