Lack of education can't stop digitality.

Singing is a commonly done activity by all women across the globe. Realising how most women enjoyed it in our community, I used it as a tool for introduction of digitality.

One day in our weekly meeting, I proposed we sing a song and dance after the meeting. Every member was so happy because it was a signal of maybe  soon coming visitors. One member short up to lead the others. All members were excited singing and dancing praising me about the introduction of table banking to the ground. As they sang, I was busy taking a video. Afterwards we sat down to ponder on what were doing. At that time is when I told them to keep silent and listen to some new. I started the video and told them to listen to the voices only. With a short time all the faces were filled with happiness waiting to comment on something. Finally I disclosed to them that It was then singing. Very many questions started coming. Everyone was curious to know when and  how they entered into my phone. That is how I started training my group about the use of digital knowledge and products to make easier. I gave simple examples like, you can send money to the ground treasure instead of going to look for her at her home,  you can call all group members and deliver a message in less than ten minutes instead of visiting each of them, you can keep records of received and send money within the week and retrieve the data during the meeting and many other examples. By the time I was winding up my lesson. Many seemed to be so happy wishing for time to extend. I summarised  my training by asking how many would wish to buy,and learn how to use a mobile phone and  all were positive and ready for the new down. Naretoi Ngito women group because the first group to do mobile banking . They saved on the transportation costs for two members that would go to the bank that was twenty five kilometers away each week, all the collection were made by individuals at there on time awaiting for the meeting date. Time wasting in visiting house to house was limited to necessity only. Family disputes on lateness and failure to perform duties on time are now history. Now looking for digital knowledge in marketing strategies, farming technology and connectivity. Naretoi is a Maasai name meaning assisting one another. Our prayer is to reach out many more disadvantaged women in our country through training, advocacy , empowerment and mentorship to the higher indigenous women in our country. World Pulse is cause to smile.
