Kenya to be feted for commitment towards fighting against illegal fishing



Kenya is set to receive an award tomorrow 3rd August 2023, for the country's outstanding efforts towards the fight against illegal fishing. The prestigious recognition will be bestowed during the 7th Global Fisheries Enforcement Training Workshop (GFETW) by the International Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (IMCS) Network in Halifax, Canada

To efficiently fight illegal fishing in the region, Kenya became one of the first participating State of the Regional Fisheries Surveillance Plan (PRSP) led by the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC).
