PROJECT SUMMARY

The project is based in Johannesburg, spread across different regions (Tembisa, Alexandra, Diepsloot, Cosmo City and Orange Farm). The project was identified to be the priority for the development of technology and life skills management for female high school learners.

One of the topmost problems affecting High School Graduates especially post-graduation is lack of basic skills in self-management and technology.

The other challenge about inadequacy of skills in high school becomes very much obvious when the students are transitioning to tertiary and workplace.

The main objective of the project in the long term is to bridge the gap between high school, tertiary and workplace whilst developing, impacting and empowering female students in Grades 11 and 12 with future skills (Technology and Life Skills and English Language).

The project will be run at one site, where 5 groups of 20 learners from each township will be transported to the venue. Training will be conducted by Niashandi facilitators every Saturday morning for 3 hours.

The project will promote youth development through technology and innovation.
