Introducing myself and my journal: We Make the Road by Walking

About Me:
In the midst of these challenging, turbulent times, I find life to be simply amazing. I see growth, change, and peace beginning to grow in unexpected places and from unexpected voices. I believe that it is my responsibility to be part of these changes. I am the owner of Anoothi US, a social business that partners with village women in India utilizing microenterprise and fair trade practices. I also co-direct a 501(c)(3) that raises funding and awareness on behalf of orphaned, abandoned and economically deprived children in India. To help pay bills, I have the good fortune of working part-time at Pomegranate Place, a women's community center in Denver. And I am attempting to publish a book of poetry by year-end. Life is full, rich and wonderful even as it is painful and tumultuous.

My Passions:
empowering women to discover their voice, poetry and writing, India, my children (29 and 27!),

My Challenges:
the never-ending quest for funding

My Vision for the Future:
My vision for the future includes: Continuing to move away from the charitable model and moving toward an active model of compassionate partnership that eliminates the \"power\" distinction of us and them;

My Areas of Expertise:
Administration, Operations, Communication
