Introducing myself and my journal: Water Air Breath

About Me:
Hello Everyone!
I'm so happy to be a part of this community! I look forward to the new relationships I will have with many of you.
I'm the daughter of Dutch immigrants. My parents came to the U.S. so my father could get his PhD in soil science at a university here. After he earned his degree, he was offered \"post-doc\" positions in either Beirut, Lebanon or Las Cruces, New Mexico. He chose Las Cruces which is how I ended up with a live-long addiction to New Mexico green chiles!

I think partially because my Dad was working in the sciences and because I lived in an area where water was a scarce resource, I began to study more about the environment. I know that there are so many reasons why our natural systems are being destroyed, but I find it incomprehensible to eliminate the water, air, land that we need to survive another day. I've been trying to work to change some of that.

Anyway. That's a little bit about me!

My Passions:
learning, meeting different people, trying to make a change

My Challenges:
I'm often overwhelmed which leads to my inaction.

My Vision for the Future:
People have complete respect for each other and the land they depend on. People regain their individual power.

My Areas of Expertise:
Water resources, specifically. Environmental issues.
