Introducing myself and my journal: Walking on Eggshells

About Me:
I am a woman of many roles: wife, daughter, sister, stepmother, aunt, nurse, homemaker, christian, feminist. I am 40 years old and was raised in \"the South.\" I love being a Southerner and embrace the hospitality that we are famous for, and dislike how we are portrayed in most movies. Speaking of movies...I am an american cinemophile. I love movies, especially from the 40;s, 50's, and 60's. I am also a poet. I have a degree in English literature, but I am a practicing nurse. Life takes you down strange paths, and mine has had a few twists and turns. I have been a feminist since taking my first \"Women's Studies\" class in college....and it rang true and strong to me. I am part of a wonderful team of ladies and gentleman on a webpage called World Wide Women, with our aim to help women be protected from domestic violence and advance the cause of equality for women around the world. I lost my sister to domestic violence 3 years ago, and it was the defining point of my adulthood. My love for her is always and I carry on for her and her child, whom I take care of, only.

My Passions:
Movies, Poetry, Feminism

My Challenges:
Being assertive and facing conflict, not avoiding it.

My Vision for the Future:
To see my sister's child succeed and thrive.

My Areas of Expertise:
Caring, loving, trusting, praying
