About Me:
Marinieves Alba is a creative innovator whose work fuses the arts, activism, and media, including print, radio, and documentary filmmaking. Marinieves was born to a Puerto Rican mother and Panamanian father in the Bronx (NYC), where she cultivated her deep love for community, arts and healing. Marinieves has produced radio segments for WBAI/Pacifica Radio. Her poetry has been featured in WE GOT ISSUES: A Young Woman's Guide to a Bold, Courageous, and Empowered Life (Inner Ocean Publishing, 2006) and Guerreras Y Cimarronas (Forthcoming, Arte Publico Press 2012), as well as numerous web and print publications. She is an Associate Produce of documentary films \"Estilo Hip Hop\" (2009) and \"When the Spirits Dance Mambo\" (2002). She is currently at work on a collection of poems and her first documentary film short.
